Subject: Please help me build a tunnel!!

Hi all!
I am building a "Devil's Mine" type ride where a roller coaster goes careening
through a tunnel. I tried to build the tunnel using a tutorial on a Lightspeed tape
using a motion path to cut a hole through an Asteroid object with a path extrude
of a circle. But in that example (thanks, Manny) the tunnel is more or less
straight. Obviously my roller coaster is twisting and turning like crazy, and that
gives me the problem that my tunnelgets squeezed into a flattened shape at the
curves. I've tried saving the motion path with no HPB action and get the same
result.
Can anyone suggest a way around this, or just a better way to attack this project?
